Our first assignment of the year, a fish.
First I roughed in a sketch, I chose a side view because I wasn't confident enough to try a more complex view, although I would have liked to. Then I roughed in base colours and tried to figure out where the shadows would be. The shadows were definitely the hardest part to figure out. That seems to be the point where I struggle a lot. I then started the scales and left the fins for last. I attempted to make them appear translucent, but might have gone a bit overboard.
I definitely wish I had more time to sort out the shadows and lighting.
